Milan Design Week 2023 — DROPCITY Convention

Europelago explores the emerging landscape of European architecture through a new generation of designers. Presented at Milan Design Week 2023, the project maps a constellation of practices sharing a common cultural horizon despite geographical distance. Today’s architectural form emerges from a dense network of influences—from European regulations and digital aesthetics to computational tools—rather than traditional localism. These bureaucratic and technological constraints foster a shared language. Europelago defines this unity as an "archipelago" of studios and research groups. Together, they outline an evolving idea of Europe as a collaborative network of values and shared knowledge, redefining the very essence of design today.
